With Silver Centurion's completion, Stark proceeded to work on a new type of suit for Disaster Rescue missions. It was presumed that the armor was tested a number of times before it was fully functional and ready for combat.Īfter completing the armor, Stark stored it in the Hall of Armors Chamber beneath his Malibu House, where all the other previous Iron Man Armors he completed were stored in as well. History Before Iron Man 3 The Iron Legion and Creation ![]() This armor contained numerous infrared flares, another feature common with some of its predecessors. The armor also features extendable Vibranium Blades that can be quickly activated from the armor's gauntlets. It's Unibeam is in a shape of a trapezoid-like triangle shaped piece, and is surrounded by another batch of triangular plates that make up the whole part of the armor's chest piece. The Mark XXXIII features a triangular Unibeam in it's chest piece, which uses the new and improved New Element Arc Reactor Mark II. The Mark XXXIII is equipped with more powerful repulsors, but uses the standard Repulsor technology. It can flexibly open itself to allow Tony to enter into the suit and automatically wrap itself around him, anywhere at anytime, much like the Mark XLII's technology and the other newly built Mark suits'. ![]() The Mark XXXIII, along with all the other newly built Mark suits, uses a more advanced technology that was based off on the Mark VII's technology, which is able to wrap itself around Tony's body, without the aid of robotic arms or any external mechanics. The Mark XXXIII has powerful repulsor propelled thrusters equipped on its back. The armor features an extendable Blade that can be quickly activated from both of the armor's gauntlets. The Mark XXXIII has an Enhanced Energy Output that allows it to transfer energy to the various Repulsors in it's system, including the Unibeam. It's armor plating are not boxy and square like like it's predecessors but more sleek and triangular, giving it a sharp, crisp look.Īrmor Capabilities Enhanced Energy Output It was designed for energy amplification and redirection, and thus has a distinctive body shape, being angular and polygonal. The Mark XXXIII suit is primarily deep crimson red in color, with golden and silver highlights, and features a triangular shaped Unibeam together with it's chest piece, which follows the shape of the Unibeam. Standing triumphant over a downed Luthor, Iron Man design comes across as one of the most comic-accurate representations of the Silver Centurion armor the cosplay community has ever seen, with its red and silver color scheme, layered armor plates, and broad shoulder pads selling an Iron Man look that hasn’t been seen in a while. At the time, being the most advanced suit Tony had ever built, the Silver Centurion armor marked his return to the fold as Iron Man after alcohol addiction sidelined him for a couple of years, ultimately becoming a 80s look that fans loved all its own. Two sets of power armor that fans of these characters will know well, Iron Man’s Silver Centurion armor debuted in 1985, while a version of Lex Luthor’s power armor bowed a few years beforehand in 1983.
